WHAT TOWN/CITY/VILLAGE DO YOU LIVE IN?   Burgess Hill

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE ON THE COMMITTEE & HOW LONG?  I have been on committee for some 10 years and am currently the Club Chairman

OCCUPATION: I am a retired Civil Servant; Job Centre Management and have also worked as an electrical auto-fitter for Halfords

HOW LONG A MEMBER OF BH&DMCC:  11 years

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BIKE & WHEN:  Ex WD Triumph 350 single circ 1940 in 1958 when I was 14 years old! Passed my test in 1961 on a borrowed 197cc James Captain. That was when gears were on the right with the back brake on the left and you did not have to wear a helmet.

BIKES YOU HAVE HAD IN THE PAST:  AJS 500 single (Candlesticks), Matchless 350 (Jampots), Vespa 125, Triumph thunderbird (old sprung hub) 1960 Bonnie; How I wish I still had it now, Yam XS250, Honda Superdream, Yam Virgo 535 and a Yam Fazer 600.

BIKES YOU RUN AT PRESENT: Honda CBF1000 and Triumph Thruxton 900, a new bonnie without the oil leaks and some reasonable brakes.

WHAT  WOULD YOUR NEXT BIKE BE: As I have only just taken delivery of the Thruxton, it would be more than my life’s worth to start talking about yet another bike at this moment !

HAVE YOU HAD A BREAK FROM MOTORCYCLING? From about 1965 to 1977- marriage, kids, needed a car etc. etc.

FAVOURITE BIKING EVENT: Isle of Man TT races - a biking event to end biking events and a “must do” at least once. Also the Ace Day run to Brighton “Ride with the Rockers” it takes me back!

FAVOURITE BH&DMCC EVENT: Foreign tours and annual Camping weekend.

OTHER BIKING EVENTS YOU HAVE ATTENDED: NEC Shows, Motorcycle World Beaulieu, BMF Show Peterborough.

FAVOURITE BIT OF KIT: Heated Jacket, Scot-oiler, Wind-tone horns, let them know you are there!
